For those of you who do not know me (i.e. almost everyone out there!) ... pleased to meet you in cyberspace. My name is John, I come from South Africa, and I really enjoy trying out decks that are a little bit off the beaten track. On to the deck list ... 4 Cursed Scroll 4 Voltaic Key 4 Mana Vault 4 Scalding Tongs 2 Sphere of Resistance 2 Temporal Aperture 2 Disrupting Scepter 4 Bottle Gnomes 2 Worn Powerstone 4 Ensnaring Bridge 4 Null Broaches 2 Karn Silver Golem 4 Urza's Tower 4 Urza's Mine 4 Urza's Powerplant 4 Ghost Town 4 Wasteland 2 Stalking Stones Sideboard 2 Stalking Stones 4 Mindless Automaton 4 Maze of Shadows 2 Essence Bottle 2 Claws of Gix 1 Disrupting Scepter I have had a lot of fun with this deck, and it really does nasty things to your opponent when you get a first turn null broach down. Alternately, I have got a first turn Karn out (in this case hope that you opponent does not go first turn bird!). The main kill method is obviously the combination of scrolls and tongs, and the main defense the null broaches and ensnaring bridges. (Very) fast mana is available from the mana vaults and (sometimes) the urza's lands, with the voltaic keys as back up. The keys also have incredible synergy with the cursed scrolls and null broaches! A lock is very possible indeed, consisting of ensnaring bridge, null broach and disrupting scepter ... not a nice situation for your opponent to get into. Karn is a lot of fun in this deck too. I mainly use him for artifact destruction! If your opponent puts down a winter orb (not the end of the world for this deck) ... change it to a creature and scroll it! Well, that's all for now folks. I hope you liked the deck, or at least had a good laugh :-) John Bromberger e-Mail: jbromberger@oldmutual.com
